Our Wood Products Specialist, Dan Parrent, brings over 25 years of experience to the program and acts as the hub of an information and skills network. In partnership with and funding assistance from USDA Forest Service, Alaska Region, Office of State and Private Forestry, and USDA Rural Development (Alaska), Dan provides technical, marketing and product development assistance, statewide, to existing and prospective forest-associated industries and community development projects. There is currently a renewed interest in wood as a viable alternative to non-renewable fuels for institutional heating needs.
