The Juneau Maritime Festival is fortunate this year to be supported, in part, by a grant from the Alaska State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. When you come down to Peratrovich Plaza on Saturday to enjoy the FREE all day music, keep in mind that the grants distributed by the Alaska State Council on the Arts (ASCA) are made possible by the State of Alaska’s financial commitment to the agency. We strongly encourage you to contact your
legislators and thank them for their support of the arts in Alaska.

From their website

“Alaska State Council on the Arts (ASCA) represents, supports and advances the creative endeavors of individuals, organizations and agencies throughout Alaska. ASCA envisions for all Alaskans the freedom to imagine, the power to create, and the ability to connect – an Alaska where arts and culture thrive, providing cornerstones for education, economic growth, and community engagement.

Now, more than ever, we need to attend to the health of the arts sector and recognize that its health has implications for the well-being and health of our nation.”
– NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson

The Juneau Maritime Festival is extremely grateful for the opportunity to grow and develop the arts component of the Maritime Festival as another way of celebrating our Maritime Culture, Commerce, and History.  Come enjoy the show on May 3rd, beginning at 11:00 am and going until 7:00 pm!
