The U.S. Navy League – Juneau Council invites you to “Salute to Sea Service” — an evening honoring the men and women of the United States sea services: the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine, whose courage and commitment keep our nation secure.
Expect an extraordinary evening as we welcome Rear Admiral Jonathan Townsend, Commander of Navy Region Northwest, a distinguished naval aviator with nearly 30 years of service to our nation. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Admiral Townsend has led missions across the globe, commanded multiple squadrons, and held prestigious leadership roles throughout his remarkable career. His dedication and service have earned him some of the Navy’s highest honors, including the Legion of Merit and the Defense Superior Service Medal. Don’t miss this special evening of great food, fellowship, and a chance to salute those who serve our nation at sea!
This year’s event will be held atop the Goldbelt Tram, one of Juneau’s most iconic destinations. Your ticket includes a complimentary round-trip tram ride to the summit, where you’ll be treated to sweeping panoramic views of the Gastineau Channel — a breathtaking backdrop for an evening celebrating those who serve upon Alaska’s waters.
The evening will open with a reception as guests board the tram and ascend to the summit station. A buffet dinner will be served in the restaurant at the top, headlined by a classic Baron of Beef and Lemon Pepper Halibut — a nod to Alaska’s proudest culinary traditions. The evening will culminate in a champagne toast in honor of those who serve.
