Grade levels are the grade a camper is entering in fall 2022. All LEGO Robotics camps will be held at Thunder Mountain High School. Please note that campers must bring their own lunch.

Cancellation Policy

All cancelations incur a $25 administrative fee. Otherwise, registration can be fully refunded up to two weeks prior to the session. Within two weeks, refunds are only possible if we are able to fill the spot off the waitlist.

Robotics Camps

Coeur Alaska Kensington Mine LEGO Robotics Explore Camp (grades 2-4)

Campers use the new LEGO Spike Essential motors, sensors and programming to bring their LEGO creations to life! This is the new robot used in FIRST LEGO League Explore.

  • Students entering grades 2 – 4
  • 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday-Friday @ Thunder Mountain High School
  • Camps are “Pay as you can”

And for one week only, we are offering the same camp to students entering grades 1-2

Sealaska LEGO Robotics Challenge Camp (grades 4-8)

Campers will build and program the new LEGO Spike Prime robots to complete challenges and end the week with a fun Sumo Bot tournament. This is the new robot being used for FIRST LEGO League Challenge.

  • 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday @ Thunder Mountain High School
  • Camps are “Pay as you can”

The following camp is for kids with experience with Spike Prime robots. Campers with significant EV3 Classroom experience should contact acooper@jedc.org to see if this camp is appropriate

Gruening Park Camp

Gruening Park Camp, made possible by the generosity of the Benito and Frances Gaguine Foundation

Campers going into Grades 2-8 will build and code the new LEGO Spike robots, conquer puzzles, battle ogres and become Master Builders as they “energize” their STEM skills. This free camp is available exclusively to residents of the Gruening Park area affordable housing community. 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday.
