
Dr. Charla Brown brings a unique perspective in her approach to regional workforce talent and economic development programming given her advanced training in applied social psychology and extensive management experience across multiple decades. She possesses deep expertise in organizational capacity, research, labor/employment, and operational effectiveness with exposure to multiple industries including global airline transportation (Continental Airlines), oil and gas (Enron International, Ocean Energy, Devon Energy), entreprenurial ecommerce (Backcountry.com), and academics (University of Alaska, Westminster College). In addition to being awarded tenure while in higher education, she has also designed multiple award-winning employer programs receiving recognition from Fortune Best 100 Companies to Work For, the American Psychology Association Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award for Large Employers in Utah (APA), and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation for excellence in organizational culture and employee well-being. Dr. Brown holds a Ph.D. in Applied Social Psychology with an emphasis in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and is a neutral arbitrator, part of the FMCS BALA 2021 cohort.
